Green Light for Innovative Charging Hub with Mini Power Plant
Kloosterman BV and Delmeco Green Vision have received €380,905 from Stichting Zeeuwse Publieke Belangen to realize their innovative charging hub. This sustainable project, combining solar energy and hydrogen storage through a Mini Power Plant, significantly contributes to the energy transition in Zeeland.

Approval for the Realization of Innovative Charging Hub Project by Kloosterman and Delmeco Green Vision
After a year of intensive guidance and support through Dockwize and SZPB’s Boost the Energy Challenge, Kloosterman and Delmeco Green Vision were given the opportunity in December 2024 to develop their concepts into a project plan and funding application at Stichting Zeeuwse Publieke Belangen (SZPB). Last Thursday, jury members from SZPB presented a check worth €380,905 to Kloosterman BV and Delmeco Green Vision in Kapelle to realize their innovative charging hub project. The charging hub project, utilizing a Mini Power Plant (MPP), is a unique development for Zeeland, playing a crucial role in the energy transition by efficiently and sustainably providing energy across various sectors.
Mini Power Plant
The innovative charging hub project by Kloosterman and Delmeco Green Vision focuses on developing an advanced charging station utilizing a Mini Power Plant (MPP). The MPP is designed to generate and store sustainable energy, facilitating efficient and environmentally friendly charging for electric vehicles and machinery. Carlo Kloosterman explains, “We aim to procure zero-emission equipment. For this, ample charging facilities are required, but currently, they are still limited. Through a smart EMS system, we plan to integrate and store solar and wind energy in a battery. Excess power can be converted into hydrogen, a process where DGV provides excellent support.” This system combines several technologies, including solar energy and hydrogen storage, to deliver a reliable and clean energy source. Mattijs Mertens from Delmeco Green Vision adds, “Given current challenges in the energy network, it’s difficult to charge heavy-duty equipment quickly. With this funding, we will research how to ensure the right output, giving Kloosterman’s charging hub a solid foundation to implement this promising project.”

Boost the Energy Transition Challenge
This project is part of the Boost the Energy Transition Challenge by Stichting Zeeuwse Publieke Belangen and Dockwize, aimed at accelerating the energy transition in Zeeland by supporting innovative and sustainable projects. Kloosterman BV and Delmeco Green Vision have joined forces to contribute their groundbreaking idea to a more sustainable future. Marlon Baarends, Director of Dockwize, remarked, “We are incredibly proud of the commitment and innovative collaboration between Kloosterman and DGV. Their project directly impacts Zeeland’s energy transition, and we are delighted to support them in realizing their plans through this challenge.”
Support from Stichting Zeeuwse Publieke Belangen
Representatives from Stichting Zeeuwse Publieke Belangen were present at the award ceremony to congratulate the winners and express their support for this project. This initiative contributes to a more sustainable future and strengthens Zeeland’s position as a leader in energy transition. Martin Martens, jury member at Stichting Zeeuwse Publieke Belangen, highlights the project’s importance: “It’s encouraging to see these two initiators combine their plans into a compelling story—a truly Zeelandic story. The primary criteria for this project included its connection to Zeeland, focusing on rural development and sustainability. Additionally, the innovative nature of the project and the fact that it will eventually be made public, enabling other initiatives to join, were crucial. Knowledge sharing is also a significant component, and that’s extremely important for the region.”
