Boost The Energy Transition Challenge

In collaboration with Stichting Zeeuwse Publieke Belangen, we launched the Boost The Energy Transition challenge. The energy transition faces significant challenges, as both the demand for and supply of electricity increase, leading to grid congestion as the first major obstacle.

Build the future of energy!

Stichting Zeeuwse Publieke Belangen (SZPB) and Dockwize invited entrepreneurs, researchers, and innovators in early 2024 to participate in the Boost the Energy Transition Challenge. This challenge offered a unique opportunity to develop innovative plans contributing to the energy transition in Zeeland.

Boost the energy transition

Goal

Why this challenge?

The energy transition faces significant challenges. With the growing demand for electricity and an increasing supply, we are confronted with grid congestion. At the same time, studies show that electricity will only account for up to 50% of the future energy mix. This makes it crucial to accelerate the development of a climate-neutral gas and heat network alongside the growth of the electricity grid.

The challenge

How can we, within two years, demonstrate through innovative projects and pilots in Zeeland that we can utilize and integrate diverse energy networks in a much smarter way to accelerate the energy transition? That is the question participants tackled during this challenge.

Applications for the challenge are now closed.
