From pilot to practice

Scaling Pilots in the Water Transition

Societal challenges are increasingly being tackled through pilots, testing grounds, and living labs. These environments give rise to innovative ideas and new approaches—also within the water transition. Yet many of these solutions remain stuck in the pilot phase and are not implemented on a larger scale. The key question is: how can all these experiments truly contribute to lasting change in the water system?

During this Experience, you’ll work together with Rabobank, AddVision, and Dockwize to explore what’s needed to successfully scale pilots. You’ll learn from real-world examples such as water hubs and the water bank, and develop practical strategies to drive innovation forward.

Drinking Water Under Pressure

Smart Savings in Urban Areas

The availability of clean drinking water is under pressure due to population growth, pollution, salinization, and climate change. Without action, shortages are looming. So how can we already start saving water smartly and cost-effectively in urban environments?

In this Experience, you’ll explore how housing associations and project developers can integrate water-saving measures into new construction and renovation projects—through smart technologies, behavioral change, and sustainable solutions. Together, you’ll develop a practical business case focused on both sustainability and cost savings.

Effluent Reuse as a Gamechanger

Collaborating on Water Reuse

Water is becoming increasingly scarce, demanding innovative solutions. In this Experience, we explore how treated wastewater (effluent) from major Zeeland-based companies such as Yara, Cargill, Coroos, and DOW can be reused in other sectors—such as agriculture.

We dive into real-world applications: from technological and process adaptations to building solid business cases and organizing collaboration between companies, governments, and knowledge institutions. What does this require in terms of governance, legislation, and smart coordination of supply and demand?

Who is it for?

  • Large water users and companies producing effluent
  • Agricultural entrepreneurs
  • Startups, scale-ups, and SMEs working on water innovations
  • Policymakers, water boards, municipalities, and industry associations

This Experience is organized by Dockwize in collaboration with Impuls Zeeland.
